Kelce said he and Swift wanted “a very intimate and genuine setting” without distractions. Madison Square Garden, a venue more commonly associated with packed concerts and professional sports, went “above and beyond” to provide the privacy they wanted.

Kelce said friends from his and Swift’s childhoods, their families and their professional circles mixed naturally and stayed engaged throughout the celebration.

George Stephanopoulos, the ABC News host and a wedding guest, described the transformed venue as “this garden inside the garden.” Despite the arena’s scale, he said the setting felt personal.

Reports differed slightly on attendance. The original estimate placed the guest list at about 1,000, while the Associated Press described “hundreds” of attendees and noted that estimates reached as high as 1,000. Either figure stretches the conventional meaning of a small gathering, but privacy at this level is more about controlling access than limiting chairs.

Screens outside the venue displayed the message “JUST&T Married,” confirming the ceremony to anyone nearby who had somehow missed the substantial activity around MSG.

Adam Sandler handled the ceremony

Actor and comedian Adam Sandler officiated after becoming ordained in New York. Kelce praised him as “the f--king best person on this planet” and said Sandler delivered the ceremony in his familiar “Sandman style” while still respecting the significance of the occasion.

“For him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor... it was absolutely insane,” Kelce said.

Sandler’s involvement was personal rather than a random celebrity booking. He previously told Kelce that Swift “means so much to our house,” praising her music, her messages and the way she treated his daughters.

Family members also had prominent roles. Austin Swift, the bride’s brother, served as man of honor, while Jason Kelce, the groom’s brother and New Heights co-host, was best man. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid attended with his wife, Tammy Reid. Speaking at an event in Salt Lake City on July 5, Reid said Sandler advised the newlyweds to “keep kissing.” Reid endorsed the uncomplicated recommendation, suggesting they show affection whenever possible. It was not elaborate marriage counseling, but it did have the advantage of being easy to remember.

What Swift and Kelce wore

Jonathan Anderson, creative director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, designed both ceremony looks in close collaboration with the couple. The wedding dress carried extra significance because it was Anderson’s first couture bridal creation for a major celebrity after taking charge at Dior.

The Associated Press reported that Swift and Kelce also wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes. Swift completed her look with Cartier jewelry. The couple wrote their own vows, adding a personal element to a ceremony otherwise supported by some of the fashion industry’s largest names.

The reception included performances from Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, who serenaded the newlyweds.
