Zayy updates fans from the hospital
A short time later, Zayy posted an update on Instagram from a hospital bed, wearing a neck brace as medical staff ran tests.
“Appreciate everybody that’s checking on me. God is the greatest. I’m good, they’re just running some tests right now. We’ll be back live streaming real soon. We’re gonna finish this race, man. We won’t let the devil win.
“We’re gonna make sure we finish this marathon that God put me on. God is the greatest. I’m alive, and that’s all that matters.”
Fans have since been sending support and well wishes as he recovers from the incident.
The reason behind the 3,000-mile walk
Zayy’s walk is tied to a larger fundraising goal. He is trying to raise $250,000 to build a trade school for teenagers, with plans to teach skills including plumbing, electrical engineering, financial literacy, and accounting.
According to the project’s GoFundMe page, more than $42,000 has been raised so far.
Zayy has said the idea came from his own experience after he had to leave college during his sophomore year because his parents could not afford the cost.
“That challenge forced me to find another way. I started small, selling pressed hoodies out of the back of my car, and through hard work, consistency, and belief in myself, I built that hustle into a profitable business. That journey showed me something powerful: there isn’t just one path to success,” he wrote.
He added: “Now, I want to create opportunities for teens who are facing the same barriers I once did. …This is bigger than me. It’s about creating access, building futures, and showing young people that their circumstances don’t define their potential.”
For now, the cross-country walk is paused while Zayy receives medical evaluation. His message to supporters, though, was clear: he intends to get back on the road and finish what he started.
