United States Vice President JD Vance said Jeffrey Epstein had links to senior figures in American and Israeli intelligence, bringing the question of Epstein’s intelligence ties back into political debate a lengthy interview with podcaster Joe Rogan, released Wednesday.
Vance was asked about theories that Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, may have had ties to Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency. His answer went further than a cautious nod at internet speculation, although he did not name specific officials or cite documentary evidence in the quoted exchange.
What Vance said about Epstein and intelligence agencies
“He clearly had connections to the upper, the highest levels of American intelligence. He clearly had connections to the highest levels of Israeli intelligence,” Vance told Rogan.
The vice president also described Epstein’s alleged Israeli connections in ideological terms, saying they appeared to sit on one side of the country’s political divide.
“Epstein seemed to be connected to the elements of the Israeli deep state that were left of centre. I’ve always found that fascinating. It wasn’t like he was super connected to the right of centre of Israeli politics,” he said.
