Tom Brady Makes His Runway Debut

Tom Brady made his runway debut on May 16 at the Gucci Cruise 2027 fashion show in New York City, because apparently retirement now comes with better lighting and leather trousers.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion, who officially retired from the National Football League in 2023, walked the catwalk in a black leather jacket, matching pants and dress shoes. He kept the styling simple with a silver watch, letting the look do most of the talking.

What Did Tom Brady Wear At The Gucci Show?

Brady, 48, leaned into a sleek, all-black outfit for the high-profile fashion event. His runway appearance was polished and controlled, complete with a calm smirk for the cameras.

It also invited the obvious comparison to his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, one of the most recognizable runway models of her generation. Brady did not exactly look lost out there, which is more than many former quarterbacks could reasonably promise.

How Does This Fit Into His Post-NFL Career?

Modeling is now one more item on Brady’s post-retirement list. Since leaving football, he has moved into broadcasting as a Fox Sports analyst and taken on business roles, including becoming a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Brady is also a father of three:

  • Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, with Gisele Bündchen
  • Jack, 18, with ex Bridget Moynahan

His public life after football has been a mix of sports media, business, family and, now, a very expensive-looking walk in front of fashion editors.

Why Did A Football Comeback Get Complicated?

Even as Brady has settled into life away from the field, he recently said he had looked into the possibility of returning to football. The league was not exactly rolling out a welcome mat, largely because of his ownership stake in the Raiders.

“I actually have inquired, and they don’t like that idea very much,” Brady told CNBC in an interview published on March 26. “We explored a lot of different things, and I’m very happily retired. Let me just say that, too.”

The issue is not only optics. Current NFL policy bars active players or league employees from owning equity in a team. An NFL spokesperson also pointed to another complication, telling CNBC, “There would be salary cap issues involving a player/owner.”

What Role Matters Most To Brady?

For all the new titles around Brady, analyst, owner, occasional runway presence, he has said fatherhood remains the one that matters most.

“I love those little kiddos more than anything,” Brady told E! News in 2024. “I love spending time with them. They’re the best part of every day of mine.”

“They light up our lives in so many ways,” he added. “They teach us a lot. They teach us to really be present with them.”

That may be the clearest through line in Brady’s post-football chapter: a man still testing new arenas, but grounding the next act in the people waiting for him offstage.
