A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has granted Sabrina Carpenter a five-year restraining order against William Applegate, the 31-year-old man arrested at her Los Angeles home after she said he tried to get inside.
The order requires Applegate to stay 100 yards away from Carpenter, her sister Sarah, and Sarah’s boyfriend, George. TMZ reported the ruling on June 17, 2026.
What the court ordered
The court granted the restraining order after a hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court. “Permanent,” in this case, means it remains in effect for the next five years, not forever, because legal wording apparently enjoys being just slightly misleading.
Applegate testified at the hearing and opposed Carpenter’s request. The judge did not buy it.
