A Roblox YouTuber protest brought an abrupt interruption to the Roblox Developers Conference in San Jose when creator Emathiio ran onto the stage during Chief Executive Officer David Baszucki’s keynote. Wearing a shirt reading “kids deserve better,” he was quickly tackled by security and escorted from the venue.
The incident occurred one day after Emathiio published a video titled “roblox is completely unfixable.” In it, he criticized the company’s direction, its strained relationship with parts of the creator community, and its record on protecting younger users.
What happened during the Roblox keynote?
Footage later reposted by Emathiio on X shows him moving toward the stage while Baszucki is speaking. Security guards react almost immediately, tackling him in front of the audience before removing him from the conference. The intervention was not subtle, although stage invasions rarely come with a gentle appointment system.
The clip begins after Emathiio is already heading toward the stage, so it does not show how the disruption started. It also remains unclear whether he received an invitation to the event or gained access by another route.
Roblox has not publicly commented on the incident. There was also no indication at the time of reporting that police arrested or charged Emathiio.
