The pair later made several attempts to reconcile, Rodgers said, but none resulted in a lasting reunion.
“There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off,” he said. “She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you,’ after we tried some reconciliation in 2021.”
Reports of their relationship first emerged in February 2021, when it was said that Rodgers and Woodley had begun dating late in 2020. Their engagement became public only days later. Although the news arrived in quick succession, Rodgers’ latest account places the proposal in December 2020 and the end of the engagement in March 2021.

The quarterback also complained that former partners, including Woodley, continued to discuss him publicly. He argued that mentioning his name attracted attention because he is a “lightning rod.” Modesty was not invited to this part of the interview.
“The height of their fame was when they were with me,” Rodgers said. “They get clicks when they say my name, just like the idiots on TV get clicks when they say my name because I’m a lightning rod.”
He then offered a direct instruction: “Move on with your life. Don’t mention me.”
Addressing Woodley by the nickname “Shai,” Rodgers disputed the suggestion that he had ended the relationship and caused her subsequent emotional difficulties.
“Shai, you left me, you took the ring off,” he said. “Her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her. What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?”
What Woodley previously said about that period
Rodgers’ comments appear to reference a 2024 interview Woodley gave to Outside. She described one past relationship as “not right” and discussed a “really awful, traumatic” experience from 2022, though she did not publicly lay out every detail or directly answer the claims Rodgers has now made.
Woodley said the period left her struggling with severe depression and anxiety.
“I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,” she said. “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment. I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing.”
She called it the “lowest low” of her life.
Representatives for Woodley were approached for comment following Rodgers’ podcast remarks. She has not publicly confirmed that she is currently dating anyone.
Rodgers says he has since married Brittani
Rodgers has confirmed that he is now married to a woman named Brittani, whose identity he has largely kept private. He previously described her as “the one that got away.”
The quarterback said they originally dated in 2017, later separated and eventually reunited. Beyond her first name and that relationship history, he has shared few details, a notably restrained approach given the amount of material now being aired about his previous engagement.
