Doc Meets World follows Friedle, Fishel and Strong during the sold-out national live tour for their rewatch podcast, Pod Meets World. The podcast has become a second life for Boy Meets World, built around the cast revisiting the series, its production, and the messy memories that come with growing up on television.
Savage did not join the podcast, and he also did not participate in the documentary.
That absence matters because Boy Meets World was centered on Cory Matthews, Savage’s character, and because the show’s audience has long associated the cast with a kind of family chemistry. “Ben is one of the most important people I’ve ever met in my life and I can’t stand the fact that he won’t speak to us,” Friedle said. “And that’s what it is: He won’t speak to us.”

“I can show you the last three years, literally, of messages and in the middle of a conversation with Ben, he just bailed on me,” Friedle said. “Ben absolutely one day woke up and said, ‘I don’t want Will in my life,’ and never told me why.”
