The rumored guest count is around 1,100 people, which is less “small family gathering” and more “award show with better catering.” For a couple who have been followed closely since their relationship became public, a venue built for crowd management and privacy would offer obvious advantages.

There is also the matter of access. Madison Square Garden has underground tunnels that could allow guests to enter and leave discreetly by car. That would help keep the wedding party and guests away from photographers, fans and anyone trying to turn a private event into a sidewalk livestream.

The appeal is clear for Swift and Kelce, who have spent years performing for massive audiences in very different ways: a huge celebration with some control over who actually gets to see it.

During an October 2025 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the Grammy-winning singer described the planned event as large and, at least in her telling, intentionally uncomplicated.

“It’s huge,” Swift said. “I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount and people are on the bubble. I'm not gonna do that—it’s gonna be fun.”

That comment fits the current speculation almost too neatly. If Swift and Kelce are marking the occasion, the clues point to scale without giving up privacy.
