The group described the release as the first collection to assemble all their singles alongside B-sides and selected recordings from the archive. The premium presentation includes a 14-disc colour-vinyl set, with a CD edition also available.
However, early discussion of the product listings suggests the formats may not contain identical material. Fan reports indicated that the vinyl package could feature the principal B-side for each single plus two demos, while the CD version reportedly offers a broader selection of B-sides and remixes, along with four demos. That difference matters for anyone viewing the collection as a definitive archive rather than decorative shelving with excellent branding.
“Do You Think About Me” sits at the centre of the campaign. Although versions of the early demo had circulated online for years, this marks its formal release through the group’s catalogue. Some listeners also reported that the track appeared on Spotify after the announcement.
The official description called the box set “a must-have for music fans” and framed it as a celebration of the group’s arrival and the Girl Power movement that followed. Whether every fan considers multiple physical editions essential is a question the merchandise department may prefer not to examine too closely.
The reaction was not universally spicy
Plenty of supporters welcomed the archival release, but others felt the teaser had encouraged expectations that the announcement could never meet. Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER described the response as “the disappointment of the century,” which is perhaps ambitious given the available competition, but it captured the general mood in some corners of social media.
“Another major disappointment!” one Instagram user wrote, accusing the group of repeatedly exploiting reunion speculation and damaging the nostalgia surrounding them.
Another returned to the group’s best-known lyric to demand “A TOUR WITH ALL 5,” while a third complained that fans had been heavily hyped for what amounted to another release of the singles on CD.
The frustration was not solely created by the teaser. Rumours of a full return have followed the Spice Girls for years, helped by affectionate public appearances, anniversary comments and persistent Glastonbury speculation. Melanie Chisholm has performed at Worthy Farm several times and previously called a Spice Girls appearance there a personal ambition.
Still, she offered a rather clear warning in March 2026. Speaking to ABC Audio, Melanie C said there was “no reunion” planned for the anniversary. Fans chose hope instead. Hope did not include a preorder form.
When did all five Spice Girls last perform?
The complete five-member lineup last performed publicly at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012. Posh, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Ginger sang from the roofs of black cabs during a medley of their biggest hits, creating the kind of large-scale spectacle that has kept demand for another reunion alive.

She has not completely rejected every possible format. During an October 2025 interview with SiriusXM, Beckham said a Spice Girls residency at the Las Vegas Sphere would be “tempting.” A world tour was another matter.
“Could I take on a world tour? No, I can’t. I have a job,” she said, before joking that she did not know whether she could still sing and “was never that great.”
Beckham continues to socialise with her former bandmates at birthdays and private events, so there is no obvious personal feud preventing a return. Melanie C explicitly said no reunion was planned, Beckham ruled out a world tour, and the anniversary campaign was built around physical recordings from the start. The staircase, the date and the music encouraged speculation, but the vinyl clue was not subtle.
