Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is officially back on the calendar, and the company is not being especially subtle about what it wants people to expect. The next launch event is set for July 22, with Samsung using the tagline: “A new shape unfolds.”
That phrasing would be coy if the product category were not already doing most of the work. Samsung has spent years building out its foldable phone line, and this event is widely expected to add a new shape to the family.
What Samsung is teasing for July 22
Samsung has not confirmed the device name or specs, but the teaser is doing plenty of nudging.
The teaser shows a tall ticket with its stub torn off, making the remaining shape noticeably shorter than before. Subtle? Not really. Effective? Unfortunately for anyone trying to avoid speculation, yes.
Rumors have suggested Samsung is preparing to expand beyond its current Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold designs with a third foldable format. That would put it closer to devices such as Huawei’s Pura X Max and to Apple’s expected foldable iPhone, whenever that finally moves from industry forecast to actual product.
