What the 911 call reportedly included
TMZ published a 911 call connected to Conner's arrest. In the call, a police dispatcher told officers that a husband had reported his wife had left in a car with “their baby” inside.
The dispatcher said the husband believed his wife was “under the influence of narcotics” because she had refused to take an over-the-counter drug test.
“He has her location,” the dispatcher said during the call, without naming the people involved. “Has it turned off now, so we can't track her.”
The call did not identify the husband or wife by name, according to the report. That matters because the public portion of the call describes what was reported to police, not what a court has found.
The arrest follows Conner and Edwards' private marriage
News of the arrest comes less than a year after Conner and Edwards got married privately. Edwards is best known to longtime MTV viewers through 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom, where his relationship with Maci Bookout McKinney became part of the franchise's early storylines.
Edwards is also the father of a 17-year-old son with Bookout McKinney. He has two younger children with his ex-wife, Mackenzie Standifer.
Conner and Edwards' relationship has drawn steady attention online, partly because this is the Teen Mom universe, where even a vague caption can apparently be treated like a court filing.
Conner recently denied marriage trouble
Earlier this year, Conner pushed back on speculation that she and Edwards were having marital problems. In a Jan. 26 Instagram video, she told followers that people were reading too much into her posts.
“Stop being messy,” Conner said. “For reference, me and Ryan are good. Other than the everyday bickering, because he don't pick his clothes up off the floor or he won't wash his sink out after he brushes his teeth, we're good.”
She added that social media users were “taking everything out of context” when she posted songs, quotes, or other personal updates.
“It's crazy because I can't even post a sad song and lip sync to it, or post a cute little inspiring quote, without people taking it out of context,” she said. “Y'all stop speculating, please.”
The arrest now places the couple back in the public eye for a much more serious reason. Conner's next scheduled court date is June 3.
