“Somebody has been trying to file for divorce on my behalf,” she said.
Lena said the person had filled out divorce forms and included a check for $435. The name on that check stood out to her because, according to Lena, it matched a name police had previously given her after officers came to her home for wellness checks.
“The name on the check matches the name that the police gave me when they arrived at my house two different times doing a wellness check,” she said, adding that the calls claimed she was being abused by her husband.
Lena said she allowed officers inside and told them she had not made the calls. She did not publicly identify the person, referring to them only as “John.”
Why she filed an identity theft report
After seeing the rejected paperwork, Lena said she contacted both the courthouse and the police. She said officials advised her to file an identity theft report, which she said she did on May 6.
Then, on June 3, Adam told her that TMZ was reporting on their divorce.
“I’m like, ‘Oh no, it's happened,’” Lena said.
She said she called the courthouse again and was told there was, in fact, a case number tied to the divorce. According to Lena, the courthouse was unsure how to handle the situation because the situation was unusual and recommended she hire an attorney. Fair enough, since “someone else tried to divorce me” is not exactly a standard administrative category.
Lena said her current theory is that “John” may be communicating with someone online who is pretending to be her.
“My theory is that this person John is being spoken to by a catfish who's pretending to be me online,” she said. “And this person is trying to get money out of John.”
Lena denies the abuse claims and says the marriage is intact
Lena said the person posing as her has allegedly been making false claims about Adam abusing her. She said those claims appeared to match details in the divorce report, and she denied them.
“They're claiming that Adam abused me,” she said. “They're claiming everything that is basically in the TMZ report, all of which is not true.”
She was equally clear about the status of her marriage.
“I’m not divorcing at all,” Lena said. “I love my husband. We've been together for 10 years. And I know that all of you are plotting on our downfall, but it's not happening. That day has not come.”
She added that the whole episode felt hard to believe even from inside it: “Honestly if it didn't happen to me, I wouldn't believe it.”
What the reported court documents claimed
According to TMZ, the court documents were filed on June 1 and appeared to request legal and physical custody of Parker. The reported paperwork also allegedly stated that Lena did not have a job and received only $3,000 per month in spousal support from Adam.
The documents also reportedly referenced a $1.1 million entertainment studio owned by the couple and claimed Lena wanted half of it in the divorce.
Lena has not publicly disclosed her actual income in response to the claims. What she did make clear is that, in her account, the divorce case did not come from her, the abuse allegations are false, and her marriage to Adam22 is not over.
