EntertainmentKylie Jenner Reveals She Is a Zelda Fan

Kylie Jenner Zelda fan was not the most predictable entry on this week’s celebrity bingo card, but here we are. The cosmetics founder and reality TV figure has revealed that she has started playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and from the sound of it, she is not just politely sampling it for five minutes.

Jenner talked about the game during an appearance on the Therapuss podcast with Jake Shane, where she called “Zelda” one of the best games ever. That is a strong opening statement, especially from someone better known for Kylie Cosmetics, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and her relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet than for discussing Hyrule’s political instability.

What did Kylie Jenner say about Breath of the Wild?

Jenner told Shane she has been spending real time with Breath of the Wild, Nintendo’s 2017 open-world entry in The Legend of Zelda series. She then tried to explain the game’s premise, while admitting she was about to sound “like such a nerd.”

“Well, you are Link. 100 years prior, there was a big war happening with the Fantastic Beasts,” she said, before quickly correcting herself.

The machines are, of course, the Divine Beasts. Wrong franchise, similar level of large creature energy.

“I’m so sorry to all the Zelda fans out there, I’m still kind of new,” Jenner added.

That apology probably bought her some goodwill. Zelda fans can be exacting, because apparently saving a ruined kingdom also requires precise terminology.

How far has she made it in the game?

Jenner continued by explaining that the player is trying to save Princess Zelda, who she said is still “thriving” in the castle, by defeating the Divine Beasts.

“They were really on our side, but they got taken over by Gandorf,” she said, apparently referring to Zelda’s long-running villain Ganon or Ganondorf. In Breath of the Wild, the threat tied to the corrupted machines is Calamity Ganon.

“So you have to enter the Divine Beasts and snap them out of it,” she said.

For someone describing the plot in casual podcast mode, the outline is basically there. More importantly, Jenner said she has already put in “days and hours” and has “already conquered one of the Divine Beasts.”

“I’m onto my second beast,” she said.

That means she has made it past the very early wandering stage and into one of the game’s major progression systems. In other words, this is not a celebrity pretending to enjoy a controller for a brand-safe anecdote. She has done some shrine-hunting, some climbing, and probably at least one deeply undignified fall off a mountain.

Why the celebrity gaming moment landed

Part of the charm here is the mismatch between public image and hobby. Jenner has built a career in beauty, television, and social media, while Breath of the Wild is a sprawling fantasy adventure about survival, exploration, and occasionally being attacked by skeletons at inconvenient times.

But that is also why the clip travelled. Video games have long since moved beyond any narrow idea of who plays them, and celebrity admissions like this make that reality harder to ignore. A game about cooking mushrooms, taming horses, solving shrines, and slowly preparing to face a castle-bound disaster can appeal to just about anyone with time and curiosity.

Breath of the Wild is also not a small commitment. The game is packed with enemies, puzzles, shrines, side quests, and four Divine Beasts before the final confrontation. If Jenner keeps going at her current pace, she could realistically finish the main story.

After that, the obvious next stop would be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the 2023 sequel. Or, if she wants to understand why so many longtime fans still speak with reverence about older entries, there is always Ocarina of Time. One Zelda game has a habit of turning into several. This is how the inventory gets you.
