Dubai authorities have denied his claim that he was being held over “espionage,” describing the issue instead as a “private civil matter.” It is still unclear exactly why he was locked up.
What Katie Price said before seeing him
Before Andrews’ release, Price told The Sun she was eager to see him but planned to ask questions.
“He is coming out, I can’t wait to see him, can’t wait to have our chats, and he should be out next week, but knowing that, knowing what prisons are like even in England, you never know.”
She also made clear that her support had limits, particularly financial ones.
“I’ve made it clear to Lee, I will never give him money, I’ll never give a man money, I’ve done it all my life, I’ve always been the breadwinner. My divorces, I’m the one that always has to give. I said to Lee I’ll never do it.”
That comment followed reports that Andrews had claimed he needed £140,000 to be released from jail.
Price also said she had not believed Andrews would simply end the relationship after he disappeared and missed a scheduled interview on Good Morning Britain. Her concern, she said, had gone as far as contacting people in the United Kingdom over fears he may have been kidnapped.
The claims around Lee Andrews’ image
When Price first introduced Andrews as her new partner, he was presenting himself online as the chief executive of Aura Group Future Urban Travel 2027 and an “investor in SpaceX Hybrid Fitness.”
His social media profile, which had around 111,000 followers, showed gym photos, luxury scenes in Dubai and images that appeared to place him alongside high-profile figures including Elon Musk and Kim Kardashian.
Those claims later came under scrutiny. Reports said there was little or no information about his company on its website, while some of the celebrity images appeared to be AI-generated.
That public image matters because it sits at the center of the unease surrounding the relationship. Price has repeatedly been open about money, relationships and being the financial provider in past marriages. Andrews’ apparent wealth was part of the persona he presented. If that persona was inflated, the emotional fallout is not difficult to understand.
Why he reportedly could not leave Dubai
After the couple met and married in Dubai, Price returned to the United Kingdom, but Andrews did not travel with her.
Reports claimed he was unable to leave because he had allegedly served time in Dubai’s Al Awir central prison in connection with suspected fraud. The allegation involved him taking out a £200,000 mortgage in his ex-girlfriend’s name without her knowledge.
The United Arab Emirates can prevent people facing criminal investigations from leaving the country. Andrews denied that he was unable to return to the UK and suggested there must have been “wrong details.”
Price later confirmed he was subject to a travel ban, though she did not explain the reason.
The pregnancy tease that went nowhere
Only weeks into their relationship, Price and Andrews also hinted they were expecting a baby.
Price said she was “having his child,” while Andrews wrote that they were a “perfect couple soon to be triple.” At one point, Price encouraged followers to pay £2.99 to find out the result of a pregnancy test.
After the attention, she confirmed she was not pregnant.

Reports then claimed Andrews had not been kidnapped but had “ghosted” his wife. The Sun alleged he was “squatting in a slightly run-down villa” in Dubai, using a burner phone and “frantically planning a route out of this ginormous hole he appears to have buried himself in.”
Price rejected the suggestion that he had cut her off deliberately.
“I’ve never thought Lee’s ghosted me, because I know how close we are.”
She said the couple had discussed frightening scenarios before because they both watched crime programmes, adding that their relationship was not built that way.
“Never thought it, and we’ve always had conversations because we both like watching crime and stuff like that.
You always think of scenarios, we would never do anything like that to it, or we, our relationship isn’t like that, we’re proper like this.
And so it was a worry when the kidnap team then came on because they can only say from their intelligence.”
A public reunion after a very public mess
Price was also reportedly spotted at Littlehampton Rugby Club’s end-of-season dinner presentation on Saturday, where an attendee claimed she was drunkenly shouting “HMP Dubai.” She is believed to have attended as a plus-one of one of the players.
Now she is back in Dubai, photographed with Andrews as if the past few weeks have been less legal drama and more scheduling inconvenience.
The questions around Andrews have not disappeared. His detention has not been fully explained, the financial claims remain murky and the accusations from former partners still sit in the background. But for now, Price has chosen the reunion, the hugs and the rooftop cinema. The follow-up conversation she promised may be the more revealing part.
