Katie Price and Lee Andrews are back under scrutiny after his missed flight left her doing a planned joint TV interview alone, which is rarely the ideal way to calm rumours about a new marriage.
The reality star, 47, appeared solo on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain after Andrews, 42, did not make it to the UK. His absence intensified speculation that the UK-born businessman, who has lived in Dubai for 21 years, may be unable to leave the city.
Price has now admitted the situation made her look foolish in public, telling her sister Sophie Price in a new podcast episode that the no-show had embarrassed her on live television.
What happened on Good Morning Britain?
Price had been due to appear with Andrews for a joint interview. Instead, she sat alone on the sofa while hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid asked about his travel status.
During the segment, the presenters said they had contacted the UK Foreign Office, which told them a man had been detained at the airport. Andrews denied being detained and said he had simply missed his flight.
That explanation has not ended the speculation. Some fans have questioned whether he left Dubai at all, pointing to details they believe suggest he was not in Muscat, Oman, as previously claimed.
Price, who has visited Dubai several times herself, said she has raised the issue directly with him.
“I’ve said to him, he needs to make it to the UK because if he doesn’t, then there’s obviously something not right going on,” she said. “If he does make it to England, it’ll shut all the rumours up.”
Sophie Price did not hide her frustration
The fallout spilled into Price’s new podcast episode with her sister Sophie, 36, where the family tension around the relationship was hard to miss.
As Katie defended Andrews, Sophie cut in with: “Let me speak,” adding that they were “not going to argue about this.”
Sophie then told her sister: “He’s massively mugging you off and he’s done it publicly on live TV.”
Katie agreed that Andrews had made her “look [like] a massive d**k,” and said the incident had not helped when public opinion around him was already shaky.
She described the whole situation as a “soap opera” and said she was tired of the constant drama around the relationship. A modest complaint, given the plot currently includes missed flights, airport claims and social media detective work.
Why their marriage is already under pressure
Price and Andrews’ relationship has attracted concern from family members and fans since the pair said “I do” just days after meeting in Dubai.
Reports have said Katie’s family disapproves of the whirlwind romance, and Sophie’s comments appeared to underline that concern.
Andrews has also faced wider criticism online. Rumours about him have circulated heavily, including claims from former girlfriends who have called him a “scammer.” There have also been questions about whether he can leave the United Arab Emirates.
His social media presence has added to the scrutiny, with backlash over heavily edited and AI-generated images on Instagram. His professional background has also been questioned, including an exaggerated CV that claims he is a doctor.
Both Price and Andrews have repeatedly defended their relationship and his business credentials, insisting they are in love.
Price says she wants the rumours settled
Despite defending the marriage, Price made clear that Andrews’ failure to appear in the UK has become a serious issue for her.
“It does look weird,” she said she told him, referring to the fact that she has travelled to Dubai while he has not flown over to Britain.
“Even I’ve flagged it up to him, big time I’ve flagged it up,” she added, saying she warned him not to embarrass her that way again.
In a social media clip, she put it more bluntly: “Me having to go on live TV without you, made me look stupid and like a d**k.”
For now, Price appears to be giving Andrews a very simple route out of the speculation: get to the UK and prove there is nothing more complicated going on. Until then, the rumours are doing exactly what rumours tend to do when handed fresh material.
