A federal judge released an alleged note Wednesday that may be connected to Jeffrey Epstein’s final weeks in a New York jail.
The document had been sealed as part of a criminal case involving Nicholas Tartaglione, Epstein’s former cellmate. The note has not been authenticated, which matters here. This is a newly released court document, not a settled finding about who wrote it or what it proves.
What the note says
The alleged note includes the line: “They investigated me for months -- FOUND NOTHING!!!”
It also refers to charges from “15 or 16” years earlier and says: “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye. Watcha want me to do -- Bust out cryin! NO FUN -- NOT WORTH IT!!”
How it surfaced
Tartaglione claimed he found the note in July 2019, after Epstein was discovered unresponsive in his cell following an apparent suicide attempt.
