Mark Epstein is pushing back on a newly unsealed note attributed to his late brother, Jeffrey Epstein, saying he believes it is fake.
According to Business Insider, Mark said he has reviewed the note, which a judge unsealed this week, and does not believe Jeffrey wrote it. He called it the “easiest f***ing thing” for someone to forge.
What the disputed note says
The note is tied to Nicholas Tartaglione, Jeffrey Epstein’s former cellmate. Tartaglione has claimed he found it inside a graphic novel after Epstein’s reported suicide attempt in July 2019, roughly a month before Epstein died in jail.
One line in the note reads: “Watcha want me to do -- Bust out cryin!!” The wording appears to echo The Little Rascals, and Mark told Business Insider that Jeffrey had used similar language in emails to him and others.
Mark’s argument is that the overlap does not prove authenticity. He told the outlet it could show that someone had access to Epstein-related materials and copied his brother’s style.
