At the time, Longoria’s friend Mario Lopez said she had found text messages from the other woman. He also said Longoria told him Parker had been unfaithful earlier in their marriage.
That history is why the new photo landed as more than a casual celebrity set visit. It suggested that, at least now, the two can be in the same room without the old story taking over.
What Longoria said about the divorce
Longoria has spoken before about how deeply the split affected her, not just as a marriage ending but as a major rupture in the life she thought she had built.
In 2012, she told The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet that her relationship with Parker had run alongside some of the most defining years of her career.
“I was with him eight years, which is how long I've been on the show,” she said. “Which is how long I've had my success. Which is how long I've built my wealth. It signified so much, this life with him.”
She added that the divorce forced her to separate her own identity from the marriage.
“So when we got divorced I felt like I got stripped of my identity and who I was,” Longoria said. “Kind of, ‘OK, wait. What does this mean for me? And how am I going to do this?’ And I had to really realize that they weren't tied together.”

The pressure of ending a marriage in public
Longoria also addressed the strain of going through the split while under constant attention. In a 2011 appearance on The Piers Morgan Show, she said the public nature of her marriage made the breakup harder to process.
“I am so public and I am pretty open about myself. And about my marriage I was,” she recalled. “You know, ‘Tony and I are going here. Tony and I are going there.’ When that happens, you immediately shut down. You go, ‘Oh my god, I have to deal with this.’ And it was hard. It was devastating to go through on its own, much less publicly.”
She also said she had entered the marriage with no expectation that it would end.
“Marriage in my family is really a sacred sacrament. It wasn't something we did frivolously,” Longoria said. “Our mantra was, ‘Divorce is not an option.’ We always would kid about that, I'll kill him before I divorce him.”
The line is sharp, but the feeling behind it was serious. Longoria has made clear that the marriage mattered to her, which makes the current civility more notable than a standard celebrity photo opportunity.
Where both of them are now
After her divorce from Parker, Longoria married Mexican businessman José Bastón in 2016. The couple welcomed their son, Santiago, in 2018.
Parker later married French journalist Axelle Francine in 2014. They share two sons, Josh, 12, and Liam, 9. Parker and Francine separated in 2020.
