Chad Lowe and Kim Painter have announced that their daughter Fiona Harper has died at 13. The couple shared the news in a statement published on September 29, remembering her as a bright and creative teenager.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” they said. They described her as a “loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”

The couple did not disclose a cause of death. They asked for “prayers and privacy at this time” and directed anyone struggling with their mental health to contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.

Her parents remember the light of their lives

Lowe, known for Pretty Little Liars and Life Goes On, and Painter, who appeared in Enemy of the State, have two other daughters: Mabel Painter, 17, and Nixie Barbara, 10.

Their statement emphasized Fiona’s close relationship with her family, particularly her sisters.

“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the couple said. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

Lowe, 58, is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe. He had often shared affectionate messages about his children on social media, including a birthday tribute to Fiona in November 2025.

“Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” he wrote alongside a photograph of her leaning against a wooden bridge railing in a white shirt, shorts and cowboy boots. “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”

The family had recently lost its home

The announcement comes after another devastating period for the family. In February 2025, Lowe wrote about his daughters after their home was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades Fire.

“The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable,” he said at the time. “I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege.”

The family has not shared further details about Fiona’s death, and its request for privacy remains clear.
