The update comes nearly three months after stylist Law Roach teased that Zendaya and Tom Holland had supposedly tied the knot. Neither star has turned that tease into a public marriage announcement, but Zendaya’s wording around the new dog made clear that this was a shared home decision.
The Challengers actress has long been open about how seriously she takes dog parenting. In a February interview with Interview, she joked that the most Hollywood thing about her might be the way she treats her dog Noon.
“I’d say quintessential Hollywood s--t is probably how I am with my dog,” she said. “They get their fancy meals with the vitamin supplements. It sounds very ridiculous when I talk about it, but I love my child.”
She added, “That’s probably the most ridiculous Hollywood thing about me, how my dog be living.”
Tom Holland Has Been Just As Devoted
Holland’s affection for dogs has also been well documented. He adopted his Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tessa, in 2014 and often spoke warmly about her over the years. He even brought her to work with him at times, which is a perk most office dogs would surely support.
“I love her, she is an angel,” Holland told Time in 2017. “She is the sweetest, most angelic thing you'll ever meet.”
The Holland family said goodbye to Tessa in 2024 after her death, sharing tributes that showed how deeply she had been woven into their lives.
Holland posted a photo of himself with Tessa on Instagram and wrote, “Missing my lady.”
His father, Dominic Holland, also reflected on the family’s bond with the dog in a blog post, calling her “a remarkable little dog who had come to dominate my family.”
“Indeed, she was the only Holland who everyone loved all of the time,” he wrote.
A Small Addition With Real Emotional Weight
For Zendaya and Holland, the new pocket bully is not just another celebrity pet update. It lands after Holland’s family loss and fits into Zendaya’s already very committed approach to caring for her dogs.
The practical side may have said three dogs is a lot. The emotional side, as Zendaya explained, won.
