Two major earthquakes hit Venezuela on Wednesday, and aerial footage has now shown the scale of destruction in the coastal city of La Guaira.
What the footage shows
The images show collapsed multi-storey buildings across parts of La Guaira, a city on Venezuela’s Caribbean coast, north of the capital, Caracas.
Officials are still assessing the damage. The footage gives an early overhead look at the damage, a quick way to see how badly urban areas were hit when streets are blocked and ground crews can’t get in.

La Guaira sits just north of Caracas, making it a key coastal city close to Venezuela’s political and economic center.
