Tobey Maguire officiated Jennifer Meyer’s wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi in Hawaii on October 10, completing a remarkably friendly post-divorce chapter. Few former spouses end up leading each other’s vows, but apparently standard ceremony planning was not ambitious enough.

The couple married at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, with Maguire wearing a black suit and matching tie as he guided them through the ceremony. Meyer chose a strapless bridal gown, while Ogunlesi wore a traditional tuxedo.

According to TMZ, Maguire and Meyer’s children, Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17, also participated in the wedding. Their involvement added a family dimension to an event already notable for placing Meyer’s former husband at the front rather than somewhere discreetly near the back.

Who attended the Hawaii ceremony?

The guest list contained enough famous names to keep the seating arrangements complicated. Reported attendees included Maguire’s longtime friend Leonardo DiCaprio and model Vittoria Ceretti, as well as Courteney Cox, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos.

Later reports also named:

  • Rachel Zoe
  • Kate Hudson
  • Danny Fujikawa
  • Kris Jenner
  • Young Thug

Neither Meyer nor Ogunlesi has publicly released a full guest list or offered additional details about the ceremony. No named attendee appears to have commented publicly, leaving photographs and reports to do most of the work.

Ogunlesi’s connection to Young Thug is professional as well as social. The 34-year-old founded the Los Angeles entertainment-management company The Ogunlesi Group, whose listed clients include Young Thug, Charlieonnafriday and Tony Award winner Myles Frost.

He is also the son of Adebayo Ogunlesi, the Nigerian lawyer, investment banker and investor frequently identified as a billionaire. Some coverage has consequently described Geoffrey as a “billionaire heir,” although reviewed reports do not establish that he personally holds billionaire status. Celebrity wedding coverage, naturally, prefers the larger number.

The divorce became final only weeks earlier

The wedding followed an unusually compressed legal timetable. Maguire and Meyer married in 2007 and announced their separation in 2016. Meyer filed for divorce in October 2020, but their marital status was not legally terminated until September 2026, according to Us Weekly.

Court documents reportedly show that a bifurcated judgment restored both parties to legal single status. Accounts disagree over the precise paperwork date, with some reporting September 21 and another describing an October 1 filing. Either way, the legal change came only shortly before Meyer’s October 10 ceremony.

Meyer began dating Ogunlesi in 2023. They announced their engagement on August 31, 2024, after roughly a year together.

The tight chronology does not suggest sudden personal upheaval. Meyer and Maguire had already spent years building a close friendship while raising their children, even as the formal divorce moved at the stately speed often associated with court proceedings.

How did Maguire and Meyer remain so close?

Meyer has said their relationship after separating required deliberate work, particularly because Ruby and Otis were still young. Speaking on the Inside Edit podcast, she recalled that their daughter was about 10 and their son was 7 when the family entered that period.

“Those are some intense times that you need to stay connected,” she said. “You’re raising kids at an intense time.”

She did not present the transition as effortless. “It was not easy every day, and I’m sure he would say the same thing, 100 percent,” Meyer said. “We definitely had to overcome some big hurdles.”

The former couple attended therapy together as they worked through co-parenting and their changing relationship. Meyer has since described Maguire as her best friend.

“I now have an ex-husband who is my best friend and would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him,” she said. “Anything in the world.”

His role in the wedding provided unusually public evidence for that claim.

Meyer and Ogunlesi welcomed a daughter before marrying

The ceremony came several months after Meyer and Ogunlesi welcomed their first child together, a baby girl born around May. Meyer announced the arrival in a Father’s Day post on June 21, sharing a photograph of Ogunlesi holding their daughter.

“A perfect month with our perfect baby girl,” she wrote. “We love you the most @geoffo212. Happy Father’s Day.”

Her wording indicated that the baby was about a month old at the time, placing the birth around May rather than exactly five months before the October wedding.

During her pregnancy, Meyer said having another child later in life was “a little more exhausting,” but added that she felt “amazing.” The baby is her third child and Ogunlesi’s first with Meyer.

The Lanai wedding therefore brought together several stages of a complicated family history: a recently completed divorce, a new marriage, a baby daughter and two teenagers taking part while their father officiated. Not a conventional arrangement, certainly, but one the family appears to have made work without requiring the usual public drama.
