She added: “I’ve never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or was trying to get a nude scene into an HBO show. When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me.”
That context is important because it shifts the conversation away from shock value and toward consent, creative control and trust on set. Sweeney has not framed the scenes as something that happened to her. She has framed them as part of a performance, with boundaries she was able to voice.
Why her relationship comments struck a nerve
Sweeney has often said she prefers dating someone outside the entertainment spotlight. In a Cosmopolitan interview, she said: “I don’t date people in the spotlight. I don’t date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it’s easiest.”
