Stanley Tucci is not pretending the numbers are invisible. He is simply saying they were never the whole story.
The actor, 65, spoke about the 21-year age difference between him and his wife, literary agent Felicity Blunt, 45, during the May 7 episode of Jenna Bush Hager’s Open Book podcast. For Tucci, the relationship worked because it came with history, trust and a very practical kind of happiness.
“It just sort of made sense, even though there is this age gap of 21 years,” Tucci said. “I knew her family, or I knew her sister was one of my best friends. And we just hit it off.”
A connection that started around The Devil Wears Prada
Tucci first met Felicity at the 2006 premiere of The Devil Wears Prada. Her younger sister is Emily Blunt, Tucci’s co-star in the film and one of his close friends. The pair later reconnected in 2010 at Emily’s wedding to John Krasinski.
At that point, Tucci was still navigating life after loss. His first wife, Kate Tucci, died in 2009. They had three children together: twins Nicolo and Isabel, now 26, and daughter Camilla, now 24.
