The renewed speculation follows the sold-out Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour, which brought Liam and Noel back to the stage together for the first time in 16 years. Demand was immense. An estimated 14 million people tried to buy tickets when the 2025 UK dates went on sale, according to reports.
That tour will be documented in the film Oasis: Don’t Look Back in Anger, due in cinemas on September 11. Noel told talkSPORT that watching the documentary left him “knackered” and joked that audience members cried “because we were so brilliant.” Modesty remains safely outside the reunion agreement.
The Daily Mail has since reported that the brothers are preparing to begin teasing a second reunion tour on September 4, with dates supposedly due the following week. Its unnamed source claimed preparations had been under way “for some time.” Other outlets have not independently confirmed that timetable, so fans may wish to keep their digital queues closed for the moment.
Does the Knebworth licence confirm Oasis shows?
A newly approved event licence for Knebworth has become the strongest piece of circumstantial evidence, although it does not actually mention Oasis.
North Hertfordshire Council granted SJM Concerts permission to stage events at the site with as many as 125,000 people present. The licence allows alcohol sales until 3 a.m. and took effect immediately. Crucially, the authorisation is indefinite, artist-neutral and not tied to particular dates in 2027.
SJM Concerts promoted the Oasis reunion shows, which naturally makes the development interesting. It does not make it a booking confirmation. The licence could support long-term investment in large concerts at Knebworth involving any number of performers. Administrative paperwork is rarely as romantic as reunion rumours, but it does occasionally matter.
Reports based on an unnamed source have claimed Oasis intend to play six Knebworth concerts across three weeks in September 2027. The same account described a 12-night residency at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium, spread across six weeks from June. No venue, promoter or member of the band has confirmed either schedule.
Knebworth carries obvious significance for Oasis. Their two concerts there in August 1996 drew around 250,000 people after approximately 2.6 million applied for tickets. Six nights at the licensed capacity would allow up to 750,000 attendees, explaining the talk of a record-breaking return while also underlining the scale of organisation required.
Could new Oasis music arrive with the concerts?
Another question now sits behind the venue speculation: would a second reunion cycle involve new material rather than another journey through the back catalogue?
The Independent has reported that Noel has been writing music, raising the possibility of the first new Oasis recordings since Dig Out Your Soul in 2008. The report does not establish that his work is intended for Oasis. Noel has released several albums with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds since the band split, so a notebook in his possession is not automatically evidence of an Oasis record.
Still, new music would give any 2027 shows a different purpose. The 2025 tour was built around reconciliation, familiar songs and the considerable novelty of Liam and Noel occupying the same stage without the enterprise collapsing. A studio release would turn the reunion into an active chapter rather than an extended anniversary event.
For now, neither brother has announced a single, album or recording session. The prospect belongs in the same category as the reported stadium dates: plausible, heavily discussed and not yet available for purchase.
What about Glastonbury 2027?
Glastonbury is expected to return in June 2027 following a fallow year, making Oasis an obvious subject for bookmaker lists. Liam has repeatedly rejected the idea of playing the festival, but that has not stopped the band appearing among speculative favourites alongside Harry Styles, Sam Fender and Sabrina Carpenter.
His objections make a dedicated stadium and Knebworth run look more believable than a festival appearance, though there is still no confirmed itinerary. Noel’s talkSPORT comment suggests the brothers are at least discussing how to occupy the summer. Liam’s posts suggest patience is not a family strength.
Until Oasis, SJM Concerts or the venues publish dates, the position remains straightforward: another tour looks increasingly possible, but the available evidence consists of teasing remarks, unnamed sources and a licence that could be used for artists other than Oasis. That is enough to excite fans. It is not yet enough to book a hotel.
