Now, Love Island USA removes Alannah Keyser from the Villa after alleged past racist comments resurfaced online, cutting short the 21-year-old’s time on the Peacock dating series.
Peacock confirmed to multiple outlets that Keyser will no longer be featured on the show after footage and screenshots allegedly showed her using the N-word. A Peacock representative told The New York Times on June 25 that the footage was not accessible during the show’s vetting process.
Why Alannah Keyser was removed from the Villa
Keyser joined Love Island USA on June 21 as part of the show’s annual Casa Amor twist, which introduces new Islanders to test the existing couples. She arrived as one of six female Islanders and made a deliberately flashy entrance during a costumed striptease, wearing sparkly angel wings. Subtlety, clearly, had taken the night off.
After her debut, social media users circulated a video allegedly taken from Keyser’s Snapchat Story. In the clip, she appears to repeat a lyric from Roddy Ricch’s song “The Box,” saying, “She sucked a n---a soul, gotta Cash App.”
Another alleged screenshot from Keyser’s Snapchat activity appeared to show the University of Southern California student privately messaging someone, “and then that n----r literally tried to flirt with me,” followed by a crying emoji. Fans also pointed to a separate comment seemingly posted from Keyser’s Instagram account, where she allegedly used a slang variation of the same slur.
