When Lee Andrews returned to social media after being released from prison in Dubai, the obvious questions were serious ones. Where had he been? What exactly had happened? And how did his wife, Katie Price, fit into the latest turn in an already strange public saga?
Instead, the internet did what the internet often does: it became intensely focused on Lee Andrews’ hair.
Why Lee Andrews’ hair became the talking point
Andrews, who has described himself as a millionaire, appeared in a video telling followers he was “safe and healthy” and back with Katie Price. But viewers quickly noticed that his hair looked much fuller and darker than the closely cropped style he had been seen with before his legal problems in Dubai.
That was enough to start the usual online detective work, much of it delivered with the confidence of people who have never met him, treated him, or apparently considered lighting.
Some social media users suggested he may have had a hair transplant. Others wondered if he was wearing a wig or hairpiece.
On Reddit, one person asked: “What is with his hair, is it a wig?” Another was sceptical about the transplant theory, writing: “Surely this isn’t a hair transplant – it would never have grown that much that quickly.”
A Dubai salon has now entered the story
The speculation grew after claims reported by The Sun involving a Dubai-based salon called Hair Repair Club.
According to the report, a representative for the salon alleged Andrews had recently visited to ask about a permanent wig. The salon claimed he attended a consultation but chose not to continue after being told he would need a patch test and colour matching before any treatment could go ahead.
The claim has fueled the debate over whether the hairstyle in his video was natural, fitted, or helped along by something else.
Some observers have also suggested the look may have been enhanced by a digital filter. Andrews has been known to use filters before, which, in 2026, is less a revelation than a workplace hazard of being online.
Sophie Price was not convinced
The new hairstyle has become enough of a talking point that Katie Price’s sister, Sophie Price, has given her view.
Speaking on an upcoming episode of The Katie Price Show podcast, Sophie made it clear she was not especially moved by the transformation.
“No it’s not my vibe,” she said.
Katie tried to defend her husband by pointing out that not everyone suits short hair. Sophie did not soften her assessment, calling the look a “ridiculous, f***ing liberty.”
It is, at least, a rare celebrity-family intervention that is both concise and impossible to misread.
The hair debate comes after Andrews’ Dubai detention
The focus on Andrews’ appearance comes while questions continue around his recent legal troubles in Dubai.
Authorities previously rejected claims that he had been detained over espionage-related issues, instead describing the matter as a private civil dispute.
Reports have since raised new claims about alleged debts. Andrews is said to be facing legal action over unpaid legal fees, along with an alleged dispute involving a luxury car rental company.
Court documents reportedly claim he owes around 266,000 dirhams, approximately £54,000, to a Dubai car rental firm. It has also been reported that Andrews asked for a 14-day grace period to settle the debt.
Katie had previously insisted she would not pay a reported £140,000 bail, before Andrews was said to have been released from prison.
Alana Percival has made serious allegations
Separately, Andrews’ ex-girlfriend Alana Percival has made further allegations about their relationship.
Percival, a fitness trainer who said she connected with Andrews on Facebook in early 2025, spoke about the relationship on the Crying In The DMs podcast. She claimed it became “volatile” and said she felt “isolated” before leaving the country.
She has previously alleged that Andrews “love-bombed” her with cash transfers, Louis Vuitton handbags, and Cartier jewellery. She also said he proposed to her in an identical fashion shortly before proposing to Katie Price.
“It wasn’t until the very last legs that it got physical,” Percival said.
She recalled one incident in which Andrews allegedly accused her of “uploading a Story on Instagram,” even though she said she had deactivated her account because he “didn’t want [her] to have one anymore.”
“When he searched my name on Google while I was asleep, there was a ring that came around my name, like I put a Story on. And that was actually the night that I left. The day after, I ran away,” she said.
“He thought I’d put up a Story, and it turned so volatile, and he was awful towards me in so many ways.
“And I laid there almost quivering in bed, crying my eyes out all night. And all I kept on thinking is, ‘How am I going to run away from this?’”
Percival said that, “luckily,” she had a friend checking in on her the next day. When Andrews left for a few hours, she said she packed a suitcase, booked a flight, and left before he returned.
“I just remember ringing my friend, and it was a mess, and I said, ‘Please, if you’re at work, get in your car and come and help me just pack some bags. I have to leave the country, and I have to leave now. I don’t know how long I’ve got.’”
“He frightened me that much, and I genuinely thought that potentially he could have killed me,” she said.
Andrews has not addressed Percival’s latest allegations. A representative for Katie Price told the Daily Mail: “There are two sides to every story.”
In the past, Andrews has denied scamming anyone, although he later admitted he had a “travel ban.”
A strange distraction from a serious story
The sudden fascination with Andrews’ hair may seem minor compared with detention, debt claims, and serious allegations from a former partner.
But celebrity news often works this way: the visual detail becomes the entry point, even when the larger story is far heavier. For now, Andrews’ new look remains unexplained, and online speculation is doing what it does best: filling the silence with theories, screenshots, and very little patience.
