Katie Holmes and Jason Bard Yarmosky have not publicly confirmed a relationship, but they have been increasingly visible together around New York. Since meeting through the Tribeca Festival in June, the actor and artist have been photographed embracing, kissing, shopping and attending events side by side. Public hand-holding has done most of the press work for them.
The connection also appears to be more than a random celebrity introduction. Both were involved in Tribeca’s film-and-art program this year, bringing together Holmes’ work as a filmmaker and Yarmosky’s established career as a painter.
How did Katie Holmes and Jason Bard Yarmosky meet?
According to TMZ, Holmes and Yarmosky met at a Tribeca Festival dinner in June. Both attended Chanel’s Tribeca Artists Dinner on June 8, two days after Holmes premiered her film Happy Hours at the festival.
Yarmosky was one of 10 artists selected to create work for Tribeca Festival winners. That shared professional setting offers a clearer explanation for how the two entered each other’s orbit than the usual vague account involving mutual friends.
Their public outings have since followed quickly:
- On July 14, TMZ photographed them after a Manhattan dinner, walking with their arms around each other.
- On July 21, they kissed and held hands at a SoHo Sessions concert benefiting North Shore Animal League America during Sienna Spiro’s performance, according to People.
- On July 22, Harper’s Bazaar photographed them shopping together in Manhattan.
- They later arrived holding hands at an East Hampton screening of Olivia Wilde’s film The Invite.
At the screening, Holmes wore a white long-sleeved shirt with a green silk skirt, while Yarmosky dressed in black.
What have witnesses said about the pair?
An onlooker at the East Hampton event told People that Yarmosky whispered in Holmes’ ear while she laughed. The witness said they appeared comfortable together and that Holmes smiled throughout the evening.
They also reportedly sat together during the film, with Holmes resting her head on his shoulder. Another People source said she looked “so happy” and “in love.”
A separate source said Holmes finds Yarmosky “interesting” and noted that she has long been attracted to creative people who care deeply about their work. “She loves being around people who are passionate about what they do,” the source said. “She enjoys learning and experiencing new things.”
Those accounts suggest an affectionate relationship, but they remain observations from unnamed sources. Neither Holmes nor Yarmosky has issued a statement defining what is happening between them.
Holmes is 47, while recent reports identify Yarmosky as 39. That makes their current age difference eight years, although their birth years are nine years apart. Descriptions of him as nine years younger are therefore understandable, if not especially precise.
Who is artist Jason Bard Yarmosky?
Born in New York in 1987, Jason Bard Yarmosky is an American painter and draftsman whose work explores aging, memory and time. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York City’s School of Visual Arts in 2010.
His official biography says he uses traditional painting techniques alongside costumes and carefully staged interiors. Much of that work grew from his close relationship with his grandparents, Len and Elaine Bard, whose lives and aging became central subjects in his art.
One of his best-known paintings, 2013’s The Kiss, depicts his grandmother wearing Playboy bunny ears as she leans toward his grandfather, who is dressed as Batman. The image is playful at first glance, but it also reflects Yarmosky’s recurring interest in age, vulnerability and the identities people carry throughout their lives.
He has described painting as a form of communication that extends beyond sight and “speaks to me as loudly as music.”
His exhibition record includes appearances at the Brooklyn Museum and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Guild Hall in East Hampton also presented a solo exhibition of his work from January 25 through April 19, 2026.
How much does Yarmosky’s artwork sell for?
Reports have placed retail asking prices for some Yarmosky originals between $14,000 and $21,000. That does not mean his work routinely earns those amounts at auction.
MutualArt records seven public auction results for Yarmosky and lists his auction high as $1,625. That price was achieved by Soldier Boy at Freeman’s/Hindman in 2018.
The difference matters because gallery prices and auction results measure separate parts of the art market. A dealer’s asking price reflects the primary retail market, while an auction result records what a buyer actually paid in a particular public sale. Treating them as interchangeable can make an artist’s market appear considerably stronger than the available auction data supports.
Even so, public sales are only one measure of an artist’s career. Yarmosky’s museum appearances, institutional exhibitions and selection for Tribeca’s artist program show recognition that is not captured by seven auction records.
Why does Long Island matter to his work?
After Elaine Bard died in 2018 and Len Bard died during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Yarmosky moved from Brooklyn to his cousin’s beach cottage on Long Island.
The 600-square-foot house was designed by architect Andrew Geller and has reportedly remained in Yarmosky’s family since it was built in 1959. He had also spent time on Long Island’s East End as a child.
In a 2021 interview with T Magazine, Yarmosky called the cottage his “journal” and said it had become a place where he “found a space for all of [his] thoughts to live in.” He added that the property helped him process loss and grief without feeling pressured.
That background gives the East Hampton appearance with Holmes some personal context. The area is not simply an event destination for him. It has been connected to his family, mourning and creative life for years.
Who has Katie Holmes dated before?
Holmes’ romantic history has often attracted attention, especially because several of her previous partners were already famous.
She dated her Dawson’s Creek co-star Joshua Jackson for roughly a year before their relationship ended in 1999. Holmes then had a long-term relationship with American Pie actor Chris Klein from 2000 to 2005. They became engaged in 2003 but did not marry.
Holmes began dating Tom Cruise in 2005. They married in 2006 and welcomed their daughter, Suri, that same year. Holmes filed for divorce in 2012, citing irreconcilable differences.
She later had a relationship with Jamie Foxx that lasted about six years and was largely kept private. They made a prominent public appearance together at the 2019 Met Gala and separated later that year.
Holmes was subsequently linked to New York chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. from 2020 to 2021. In spring 2022, she dated Broadway musician and composer Bobby Wooten III.
With Yarmosky, the visible affection is notable, but the label remains theirs to choose. For now, the clearest facts are that they met through Tribeca, share creative interests and have spent much of July looking very comfortable in each other’s company.
