Jacob Elordi confronts photographers in a video showing him and girlfriend Kendall Jenner trying to return to their hotel during Fashion Week in Paris. The actor repeatedly asked the group to stop taking pictures and allow the couple to walk home, a request that was direct, clear and apparently still required several repetitions.
“Wait, wait, wait, can we just walk home?” Elordi said in footage posted on social media on September 28. “Stop, stop, stop.”
The 29-year-old pointed out that the photographers had likely already captured images of him and Jenner, 30. He then asked again, “Can we just walk home back to our hotel?”
“No flash, just let us walk,” he added. “Just let us go.”
What happened during the walk in Paris?
Cameras continued following Elordi and The Kardashians star as they crossed the street alongside their security team. Jenner kept her face covered for much of the encounter, while Elordi wore sunglasses against the flashes.
Neither appeared interested in turning the short journey into an impromptu photo call. The photographers, unfortunately, had reached a different editorial conclusion.
The Paris outing came shortly after Elordi attended the Bottega Veneta show during Milan Fashion Week on September 26. The Oscar nominee sat in the front row to support Jenner as she walked the runway.
During the show, the Frankenstein actor used a digital camera to take pictures of Jenner and cheered for her with a whistle from the audience. It was a considerably more welcome use of a camera than the one he encountered in Paris two days later.
How long have Jacob Elordi and Kendall Jenner been linked?
Elordi and Jenner first sparked romance speculation at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in March. Their European appearances are the latest in a series of trips together since then.
The pair were reportedly seen getting close at Coachella in April, spending time at the beach in Hawaii in May and travelling to Japan in June. Their schedule has been international, even if their comments about the relationship have remained limited.
Both have largely kept the details of their romance private. For Elordi, that approach predates his relationship with Jenner. The Saltburn actor discussed the difficulty of dating in public during a 2020 interview with Vanity Fair.
“You want it to be genuine and real and have all the feelings of what you read in 1920s literature,” he said. “But when people are watching and talking about it, it makes it a little bit difficult.”
Six years later, the setting may be Paris rather than a novel, but the problem appears much the same: walking back to a hotel becomes complicated when every few steps come with a flash.
