Gwyneth Paltrow says her Brad Pitt relationship began, at least from her perspective, in a cinema. Years before they met, she watched him in Thelma & Louise and reached a straightforward conclusion: he was “the most handsome man.” Hollywood later arranged the introduction, as Hollywood occasionally does.
Speaking with Benny Blanco and Lil Dicky on Friends Keep Secrets on Sept. 8, Paltrow recalled seeing the 1991 film while growing up. Her distant crush became considerably less distant when she and Pitt were cast as a married couple in David Fincher’s 1995 thriller Se7en.
“I get cast in the movie with Brad, and I met him on set,” she said. “We had kind of a love at first sight thing. It was pretty awesome. It was really fun.”
How did Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt meet?
Paltrow was in her early 20s when the romance began. Pitt was already a major film star and about nine years older, but she said the age difference did not concern her.
“No, because he was so beautiful,” she said when asked about it. “I think he was 31 and I was 22.” Apparently, symmetry has its limits as a relationship criterion.
