Gisele Bündchen’s workout routine has changed since she and her husband, Joaquim Valente, welcomed their son in February 2025. The most notable addition is weight training, although her schedule was hardly relaxed to begin with.

“I do weights three times a week,” Bündchen told i-D in an interview published September 10. “I do Pilates once or twice a week. I do yoga two or three times a week.”

She also exercises every day, but does not treat movement as an obligation. “I don’t see it as something I have to do,” she said. “I see it as something I get to do.” The schedule leaves little room for the traditional concept of a rest day, apparently.

What counts as a workout for Bündchen?

The 46-year-old does not limit exercise to structured gym sessions. Surfing, paddleboarding and playing volleyball with her daughter all qualify, because the point is as much about staying present as completing a prescribed number of repetitions.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m surfing, if I’m playing volleyball with my daughter, if I’m paddleboarding,” she said. “Whatever it is, I feel like it’s a moment of being.”

The strength training is producing results. Bündchen said she can now perform pull-ups for the first time in her life, a milestone that tends to be less glamorous than a runway appearance but is considerably harder to fake.

Her children also help shape the family’s activities. Bündchen shares Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13, with her former husband, Tom Brady. During the interview, she showed a photograph of herself attending a dance class with Vivian after her daughter suggested they try one together.

“I’m not so great,” Bündchen admitted, offering a rare fitness assessment that may sound familiar to anyone who has followed a teenager into a dance studio.

How has motherhood changed her outlook?

Bündchen said welcoming another child later in life has made her more attentive to ordinary experiences. She described children as an opportunity for parents to encounter life again and become more present.

“I find every little thing so amazing,” she said.

The baby has also arrived during a period when Bündchen feels less pressure to satisfy outside expectations. “Having a baby at this moment of my life is such a gift, because I’m in a different place,” she explained. “I don’t have anything to prove. I don’t feel like I really, quite frankly, care.”

That attitude extends beyond fitness and parenting. After decades spent in an industry built around public scrutiny, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel said she no longer allows other people’s judgments to determine her choices.

“I’m not defined by other people’s opinions,” Bündchen said. “I feel like I get to choose how I want to live my life.”

For now, that life includes a new baby, daily movement and three weight sessions a week. Also pull-ups, because apparently the existing schedule needed one more challenge.
