For players who have spent years translating favorite characters into homebrew rules, the new Dungeons & Dragons crossovers remove some of that unpaid design work. Wizards of the Coast has announced official collaborations with World of Warcraft and Star Wars, giving two enormous fan communities a formal route into the revised fifth-edition game.

The projects arrive as D&D continues building on renewed mainstream attention from Stranger Things and Baldur’s Gate 3. They also follow the 2024 rules revision, commonly called 5.5e, which updated the game without entirely replacing fifth edition. At Gen Con, Wizards presented the collaborations under the Universes Beyond banner, extending a licensing strategy already familiar to Magic: The Gathering players.
