According to the latest reporting, the couple has not postponed the wedding altogether. Instead, they have adjusted the scale. The planned Bahamas ceremony is being described as intimate, which is a useful word when the alternative involves the White House and all the optics that come with it.
Who attended Bettina Anderson’s bridal shower
Anderson’s wedding celebrations were already underway in April, when she held an Enchanted Garden-themed bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago.
The guest list included several members of the Trump family. Ivanka Trump, Lara Trump, Tiffany Trump and Marla Maples attended, according to Page Six. Kai Trump, Trump Jr.’s daughter with ex-wife Vanessa Trump, also stopped by, a source told the outlet.
The shower was hosted by Palm Beach social figures Yaz Hernandez, Amy Phelan and Audrey Gruss. Other guests included:
- Daphne Oz
- Dina Powell McCormick
- Dee Ocleppo Hilfiger
- Andrea Wynn
- Amy Baier, the wife of Bret Baier
Trump Jr. also gave a toast during the event.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Bettina,” he said, according to one guest. “She is smart, loving and caring.”
It was not exactly a low-profile gathering, but compared with a possible White House wedding, almost anything looks restrained.
When Trump Jr. and Anderson got engaged
Page Six first reported in December that Trump Jr. and Anderson were engaged. Anderson is the daughter of philanthropists Harry Loy Anderson Jr. and Inger Anderson.
The outlet also reported that Trump Jr. proposed at Camp David on Dec. 13 while the couple were celebrating Anderson’s birthday.
Their relationship became public after Trump Jr.’s engagement to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle ended. According to Page Six, Trump Jr. and Anderson began dating in 2024, around the same period that his relationship with Guilfoyle came to a close.
Guilfoyle was named Ambassador to Greece on the same day Anderson and Trump Jr.’s relationship went public.
Trump Jr.’s previous marriage and family
Trump Jr. was previously married to Vanessa Trump from 2005 to 2018. The former couple share five children.
With the Memorial Day ceremony now reportedly set for the Bahamas, the couple appears to have landed on a plan that keeps the wedding moving while reducing the public spectacle. It is still a private island wedding, so nobody is being asked to mistake this for minimalism. But the shift away from a large White House event is the relevant change.
