The Channing Tatum burner account theory has met one significant obstacle: Channing Tatum says it is nonsense. The actor denied secretly operating an Instagram profile that left hostile comments on posts about his former fiancée, Zoë Kravitz.

Tatum addressed the speculation in an Instagram Stories statement on Sept. 21, sounding both amused and baffled that anyone thought this was how he spent his free time.

“Yo i truly can't believe yall think this is what l'm doing with my free time,” he wrote. “F--kin hilarious.”

Why people connected the account to Channing Tatum

The theory began after Instagram users noticed an account called “Nonya Bidness” commenting on posts about Kravitz and her fiancé, Harry Styles.

Under one post showing a public display of affection between the “Watermelon Sugar” singer and the High Fidelity actress, the account reportedly wrote, “Just here for the hate.” The comment was later deleted, which naturally did little to discourage speculation. The internet rarely interprets deletion as a request to move along quietly.

Online investigators then noticed that Tatum’s verified Instagram account appeared to be the profile’s only follower. That detail prompted claims that the unnamed user was actually the Magic Mike star posting from a secondary account.

Tatum pointed out the fairly obvious problem with that theory.

“Also why would I follow a burner account if I didn't want people to connect me to it?” he wrote. “Wtf, come on.”

The 46-year-old finished his denial by directing followers to the only profile he says belongs to him.

“If I really need to say it,” he added, “l only have one IG account, @channingtatum.”

What happened between Tatum and Zoë Kravitz

The online suspicion arrived with plenty of relationship history attached. Tatum and Kravitz began dating in 2021 and later became engaged. Their relationship ended in 2024, shortly after the release of Blink Twice, the film they made together.

Kravitz has since become engaged to Styles, while Tatum is dating model Inka Williams. He has not offered much public commentary about his former relationship, beyond rejecting the idea that he is anonymously heckling posts about his ex.

Kravitz, however, spoke warmly about Tatum and their collaboration in a 2025 interview with Elle.

“I love this thing that we made together,” she said, “and I care for him very much.”

She added, “I’m so happy that all happened. I just feel so grateful to go on that journey together.”

Tatum also shares 12-year-old daughter Everly with his former wife, Jenna Dewan. For now, his position on the mysterious Instagram account is uncomplicated: it is not his, and anyone looking for his actual opinions should stick to the verified profile.
