Boy George has withdrawn from Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium after his pro-Israel song We Will Dance Again drew widespread criticism. The Culture Club singer had been due to play King Herod from August 3 to 15, 2026.

The decision was announced by his manager, Paul Kemsley, who said George would no longer join the West End production. Although the statement did not directly blame the controversy, it made clear that keeping attention on the show had become a priority.

“After careful consideration, I have decided, in my capacity as Boy George’s manager, that he will no longer be appearing in Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium,” Kemsley wrote on Instagram.
