That account comes with an unresolved detail. The screenshots displayed by The Nightly showed timestamps of 7:38 a.m. and 7:03 p.m., despite the women describing the meetings as occurring three hours apart. The discrepancy does not establish what happened, but it does make the viral timeline less tidy than social media posts suggested.
No outlet has provided evidence that Smith was literally dating 400 women. The figure originated in Thornton’s caption and appears to be rhetorical rather than an audited total.
