Children of Hollywood royalty are usually assumed to receive a soft landing, preferably with leather seats. But Clint Eastwood wouldn’t buy Scott a car when his youngest son needed transportation to work, according to Scott’s account on the August 3 episode of the “Armchair Expert” podcast.

“My dad wouldn’t buy me a car,” Scott Eastwood said. “I made that pitch and that didn’t go well.”

After high school, Scott attended Santa Barbara City College and worked as a barback in what he described as a “seedier area.” Without a car, he made the commute by bicycle. He was “furious” at the time, but now believes the decision was “probably for the best.”
