NBC News also reported, citing insiders, that the couple’s vows moved many of the more than 1,000 guests to tears. Swift’s vows reportedly included singing, which is not exactly a shocking plot twist, but still seems to have worked on the room.

People reported that the vow portion of the ceremony lasted about 20 minutes. Guests were reportedly given embroidered handkerchiefs, a detail that suggests the event planners knew exactly what type of evening they were staging.

The Daily Mail, citing another purported guest, reported that Kelce seemed “nervous” at the altar but “kept it together” while delivering his vows.

“Taylor looked tearful during a part in the vows where he promised to protect her forever,” the insider told the outlet on Sunday.

Who attended and who officiated

Swift and Kelce, both 36, reportedly married Friday evening in front of more than 1,000 guests at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The ceremony was officiated by Adam Sandler, according to the reports. Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid later told CNN that Sandler gave the couple “touching” and “simple” marriage advice.

“He said kiss every chance you get — every chance you have, every single day,” Reid said. “So whether you’re going to bed or going to work … go ahead and kiss her.”

A restrained message, by celebrity wedding standards. Nobody had to descend from the ceiling to make the point.

What happened at the reception

The reception reportedly included performances from Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, which is a fairly efficient way to remind guests they are not at a normal wedding.

Swift’s longtime publicist, Tree Paine, told Page Six that the couple wore Christian Dior Haute Couture for the ceremony.

Paine also said they wore custom-made Christian Louboutin shoes.

For now, the clearest public picture of the event comes from guest accounts and media reports: a large Madison Square Garden wedding, a long and emotional vow exchange, major celebrity guests, and Kelce reportedly shedding more tears than many guests seemed to expect.
