Paris Hilton honors Britney Spears with the kind of public nod that says friendship can survive fame, time, and several decades of tabloid weather. Speaking to E! News at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles, Hilton named Spears among the women she would want in her ideal girl squad.
The list was not exactly short on pop-history weight. Hilton also included Kesha and Demi Lovato, giving the moment a neat little early-2000s-to-now arc, because apparently even dream friend groups need range.

During the June 12 event, Hilton spoke with E! News’ Erin Lim Rhodes about the women she would want by her side. Spears, Kesha and Lovato made the cut.
Hilton said she was also hoping to cross paths with Lovato at the ceremony, adding simply, “I love her.” Brief, clear, and not exactly difficult to parse.
That mention matters because Hilton and Spears have long been publicly linked as friends, especially since the peak of mid-2000s celebrity culture. In recent years, the public has viewed both women with more sympathy and context, so a warm shoutout feels less like nostalgia bait and more like a small act of loyalty.
Hilton Says Motherhood Has Been Surprisingly Calm
Away from the red carpet and celebrity roll call, Hilton said much of her day-to-day life is now centered on her two children, Phoenix, 3, and London, 2. She shares both with her husband, Carter Reum.
Hilton described the toddlers as the “sweetest little angels in the world,” and said the much-discussed parenting phase known as the “terrible twos” has not shown up at her house yet.
“I feel so lucky. My babies are so kind and sweet,” Hilton said. “Everyone says, ‘Oh, the terrible twos,’ but I have not experienced that.”
That is either a very lucky parenting update or the kind of sentence other parents hear and quietly file under “must be nice.” Hilton seemed genuinely moved by family life, especially the bond between her children.
Phoenix Is Already Protective of London
Hilton said Phoenix has taken naturally to being an older brother, particularly when it comes to London.
“Phoenix is the best big brother to London,” the 45-year-old said. “He's so protective of her, and they're inseparable, so it's really cute to watch them grow up together.”
For Hilton, whose public image was once built around parties, paparazzi and reality television, the focus is now clearly closer to home. She has spoken often in recent years about wanting a family, and her comments at the World Cup event kept returning to the smaller milestones that matter once the cameras are not the whole point.
One of those milestones may eventually involve soccer, fitting enough given the setting.
She Is Ready for a Future Soccer-Mom Era
Hilton said she is looking forward to the possibility that Phoenix might eventually play soccer.
“I can't wait till Phoenix plays soccer, and I could be a soccer mom,” she said. “But for now they love basketball. They haven't played soccer yet, but they kick the ball around the backyard.”
For now, it sounds less like structured youth sports and more like toddlers discovering that balls are portable chaos. Still, Hilton seemed happy to imagine the next stage.
She also shared how the family plans to spend Father’s Day on June 21. According to Hilton, the celebration for Reum will be quiet and home-focused.
“We celebrate Dad, because he's the best, and probably cook something at home, and just chill and relax,” she said. “We love to make lasagna together.”
A World Cup opening ceremony gave Hilton the setting, but the interview itself was really about the people she keeps close: old friends, her husband, and the two small children currently running the household with apparently angelic efficiency.
