Brown is not the only famous person clearing space in her life for Rockstar Games’ next release. Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton said last year that he planned to cancel work commitments once GTA 6 launches, which is either admirable honesty or a scheduling issue for several assistants.
How she plays GTA without “breaking the rules”
The funny part is not that Brown likes GTA. Plenty of people do. The funny part is how she says she plays it.
While the games are built around criminal missions, stolen cars, shootouts, and generally poor civic behavior, Brown said she tries to keep things unusually lawful.
“I stop at the red lights, I never run anyone over… I’m like, ‘I’m gonna go to the strip club but I’m not going to get drunk.’ I’m very, very good,” she explained.
That approach raises a practical question, since the main story in most Grand Theft Auto games does not usually reward quiet compliance with traffic laws. Brown appears to square that circle by treating her character less like a criminal and more like someone with a personal code.
As she put it, she is “not a hitman, I’m a vigilante.”
It is a very specific moral framework for a series famous for letting players behave terribly in traffic, but if nothing else, it shows how open-ended these games can be. Some players test the physics engine. Brown apparently tests the patience of virtual stoplights.
Jake Bongiovi has noticed the Sims energy
Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, has already teased her about the way she plays. According to Brown, he has questioned why she treats GTA like The Sims.
That comparison is more fitting than it first sounds. Brown was named a Sims ambassador in 2018 and was added to The Sims 4 as herself. Her official Sim is still available through Electronic Arts.
Her relationship with games also goes beyond her own playing habits. Brown’s Stranger Things character, Eleven, has appeared in both Fortnite and Dead by Daylight. Those appearances use the character’s likeness, though Brown did not voice Eleven in Dead by Daylight. The role was voiced there by Abby Espiritu, an anime and video game voice actor.
Could Rockstar put Brown in GTA Online?
Now that Brown’s love of GTA is public, it is not hard to imagine speculation about whether Rockstar might bring her into the franchise in some form. A cameo in a future GTA Online update, or in the online mode widely expected to follow GTA 6, would not be out of step with the series’ history.
Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online have featured celebrity appearances from names including Cara Delevingne, Kenny Loggins, and Dr. Dre. Rockstar has long understood that a famous face can give its already oversized world one more layer of absurd realism.
For now, Brown is simply another high-profile player waiting for GTA 6, albeit one who may be the only person entering Los Santos traffic with a strict commitment to red lights. In a franchise built on mayhem, that might be the most rebellious choice available.
