Megan Thee Stallion is cutting her Broadway stint short, according to TMZ, moving her final performance in Moulin Rouge! from May 17 to this Friday.
The change comes just days after the rapper publicly addressed her split from NBA player Klay Thompson. TMZ reported that Megan announced the breakup Saturday and said trust, fidelity and respect had been “compromised.”
A shorter run at the Moulin Rouge
Megan shared the Broadway update in a social media post Monday, thanking the production’s cast, crew and fans who came to support her.
“It’s been such an honor to be part of thee Moulin Rouge family and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theater! Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work! I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. And to all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey! I LOVE YALL🥹 See you soon 💙.”
The original plan had Megan wrapping her Broadway engagement on May 17. The revised schedule gives the run a much earlier finish, and puts Friday as her last night in the show.
The timing is getting attention
TMZ also reported that Megan performed Saturday night after announcing the split and appeared emotional during the show. The outlet framed the Broadway exit as arriving in the immediate aftermath of the breakup news.
For now, Megan has not publicly laid out what comes next after Friday’s performance. Thompson, meanwhile, has entered the NBA offseason after the Dallas Mavericks missed the playoffs.
