IShowSpeed’s post-match celebration in Miami took a quick detour into roadside common sense after police pulled the streamer over for standing through the sunroof of a moving car.
The incident happened after Portugal’s World Cup match against Colombia, which ended in a draw. Speed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., had left Miami Stadium with his crew, stopped for food, and then continued on before a police cruiser spotted the stunt and activated its lights.
Why did police pull over IShowSpeed in Miami?
Footage from Speed’s livestream showed the moment his group realized they were being pulled over. As the officer approached, someone in the vehicle could be heard saying, “Pull over. Pull over. You know what they’re going to say, don’t you?”
The officer then walked up to the line of vehicles stopped on the roadside and greeted the group: “Okay, gentlemen, how are you all doing?”
Some of the audio immediately after that is unclear in the clip, but the officer’s warning came through clearly enough: “[It’s] extremely unsafe. I understand y’all are trying to party. You can’t do that.”
