Heather McComb married actor Scott Michael Campbell in an outdoor ceremony in Missoula, Montana, announcing the wedding Sunday with a set of photos from the celebration. The actor, previously married to James Van Der Beek, described the ceremony as one surrounded by close family, friends and a considerable amount of gratitude.

McComb posted images from the Montana wedding on Instagram, including photos from the outdoor ceremony and the details that tend to survive long after all the formal portraits are done.
Her wedding look included sparkly white cowboy boots and socks reading, “I [heart] my husband.” Later, she shared another photo showing the socks after a full day of use, now visibly dirty, along with the silver-and-white sneakers she changed into. By the end of the day, practical footwear had won out. It usually does.
In her caption, McComb wrote that she and Campbell had “under the covenant of God” been “officially married” by her sister, Essence, in Missoula, which she called their favorite city.
“Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by. God is so good,” she wrote.
The couple thanked family, friends and wedding vendors
McComb used the post to thank the people involved in the wedding weekend, including those who helped plan the event and guests who traveled to Montana from across the country.
“Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us,” she wrote, adding, “Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker!”
She continued: “You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We are sitting here counting our many blessings.”
Campbell, 54, also marked the wedding on Instagram, sharing his own photos and writing that he was “BEYOND BLESSED” after “the most AMAZING week” marrying McComb, whom he called a “BEAUTIFUL soul.” He also thanked friends, family and “newfound Friends and family” who were part of the celebration.
McComb was previously married to James Van Der Beek
McComb, 49, was married to James Van Der Beek from 2003 to 2010. Van Der Beek, best known for starring in “Dawson’s Creek,” later married Kimberly Van Der Beek that same year.
James and Kimberly have six children together:

McComb has previously spoken warmly about Van Der Beek and his family, including Kimberly and their children, in public posts. In one tribute, she described him as “a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him.”
She added that he “shined so bright yet was so humble and human,” describing him as “always searching, always growing, always going deeper” and willing to move beyond his comfort zone.
For now, McComb’s latest public update is the Montana wedding, complete with faith-filled captions, family involvement and the inevitable post-ceremony shoe change.
