The Gentlemen Season 3 has officially been approved, with Netflix ordering another eight episodes of Guy Ritchie’s crime drama before Season 2 has even arrived. Apparently, confidence is running almost as high as Eddie Horniman’s opinion of his own criminal abilities.
The third season is currently in pre-production, although scripts have not yet been finalized and no new cast members have been confirmed. That includes Meghan Markle, despite rumors linking her to the series. Production is expected to begin soon.
“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight,” said Ritchie, the show’s creator, writer, director and executive producer. “A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”
Ritchie will return to direct and will co-write the new episodes with Matthew Read.
What does the Season 2 trailer reveal?
The renewal arrives alongside Netflix’s first full-length trailer for Season 2, which premieres on Sept. 3. The new episodes will push Eddie Horniman, played by Theo James, and Susie Glass, played by Kaya Scodelario, beyond their familiar British territory.
Their business is expanding internationally, taking the pair to the lakeside villas of Italy. The scenery is elegant. The criminal complications are less relaxing, with at least one member of the group discovering that the operation is considerably more dangerous than expected.
Back in Britain, Eddie’s growing influence in the underworld is matched by his rise through the country’s establishment. That brings him into the orbit of a particularly slippery aristocrat played by new cast member Hugh Bonneville.
The trailer makes Eddie’s ambitions fairly plain. Speaking to Geoff about his family estate, he says: “Four hundred years ago, this estate spread out as far as the eye could see. I want it all back.” Modesty, clearly, will not be a major theme this season.
How far will Eddie’s ambition take him?
American billionaire Stanley Johnston, played by Giancarlo Esposito, continues encouraging Eddie’s belief that he belongs at the top. “You are destined to rule, forge your own path,” Johnston tells him in the trailer.
That advice appears to strengthen Eddie’s confidence as he deals with increasingly powerful crime figures. Whether he has the judgment to match that confidence remains another matter. Season 2 will follow the cost of his attempt to build power in both criminal and aristocratic circles, two environments that may prove less different than their members would prefer to admit.
Susie’s family will also remain central to the story. Ray Winstone returns as her kingpin father, Bobby Glass, while Harry Goodwins is back as her boxer brother, Jack Glass.

- Daniel Ings as his disinherited older brother, Freddy
- Jasmine Blackborow as his sister, Charly
- Vinnie Jones as Geoff, the estate groundskeeper and guardian of several family secrets
Who is joining the Season 2 cast?
Giancarlo Esposito, Michael Vu, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley are among the other returning cast members. Season 2 also adds a varied group of newcomers, ranging from established actors to a professional boxer and a reality television host.
New additions include:

- Benedetta Porcaroli, from The Leopard
- Amra Mallassi, from Dune: Part Two
- Tyler Conti, from Tell Me Everything
- Professional boxer Chris Eubank Jr
- Love Island U.K. host Maya Jama
- Hugh Bonneville as the aristocrat entering Eddie’s expanding circle
No equivalent casting announcements have been made for Season 3. With scripts still unfinished, reports about prospective stars remain speculation rather than evidence that anyone has signed a contract.
Netflix keeps backing its British series
The early renewal forms part of a wider run of returning orders for Netflix productions from the United Kingdom. The streaming service has also commissioned Black Mirror Season 8, Legends Season 2 and Being Gordon Ramsay Season 2.
Other British dramas preparing for second seasons include Supacell, Black Doves and House of Guinness. Netflix, then, is not being especially subtle about wanting established titles to keep producing episodes.
