Euphoria has returned after a long wait, and Season 3 is already moving at the kind of speed that makes a quiet catch-up night feel like admin work.
The season opened with Rue at the center again, following her as she transported drugs across the US-Mexico border for Laurie and appeared to have a spiritual awakening along the way. The premiere also included dedications to members of the Euphoria cast and crew who died between Seasons 1 and 2, including Angus Cloud. His character, Fez, remains alive in the series.
Episode 2 pushed Rue further into danger and closer to Jules. Now Episode 5 is next on the HBO schedule.

What happens in Episode 5?
Spoilers follow for Episode 5, titled “Kitty Likes to Dance.”
The episode picks up directly after the end of Episode 4, with Rue taken in by the Drug Enforcement Agency. The DEA quickly catches her in a lie, threatens her with life in prison, and offers a way out: become a “confidential source.”
Rue agrees, although not with much enthusiasm. Her real drugs are swapped out for laxatives and sugar pills, and agents install an app on her phone so they can listen while she tries to arrange a buy.
That plot connects with a separate story involving Kitty, a new arrival at the strip club. Rue sees Kitty having sex with multiple men, and the moment makes her question the choice she has just made.
Elsewhere, Nate, whose reattached toe is now somewhat intact, and Cassie split up. Cassie sells her engagement ring to rent an apartment, then teams with Maddy to launch her OnlyFans career. That plan takes them to a Brandon Fontaine party, where Cassie needs to be seen with the major influencer. She gets the photo opportunity by doing coke with him on his bed.
Jules also has a difficult episode. Lexi asks her to paint an image for her TV show, but the graphic result upsets everyone involved.
Laurie, meanwhile, buries her dead parrot and turns her attention to revenge against Alamo. She sends her boys to his club, where they break in and steal his money and drugs. The escape does not stay clean for long: getaway driver Faye’s noticeably enhanced lips give her away, leaving Alamo with a clear idea of who hit him.
Episodes 1-4 of Euphoria Season 3 are available now on HBO. Episode 5 arrives Sunday, May 10.
