US Democratic Senator Chris Van Hollen condemned Benjamin Netanyahu as a “chronic liar” on September 23, 2026, ahead of the Israeli prime minister’s visit to the United Nations General Assembly.
“Netanyahu lies and lies and lies,” Van Hollen said, dispensing with diplomatic subtlety before the gathering of world leaders.
The senator also described Netanyahu as a “lying war criminal” and held him responsible for the killing of Americans. His remarks added to the criticism facing the Israeli leader as he prepared to address the UN General Assembly.
