Apple Martin's Nancy Meyers film debut is now on the calendar, and it is not exactly a quiet first step. The 22-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin will appear in the filmmaker’s upcoming movie, according to reports published May 18 by Deadline and Entertainment Weekly.
Martin, who graduated from Vanderbilt University earlier this month, is joining a cast with the kind of names that make a first feature credit look slightly less like easing in and more like being handed the deep end with nice lighting.

The film’s ensemble includes Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, Tony Hale and Erin Doherty. Martin’s role has not been disclosed, and plot details remain largely under wraps.
The project was previously known as Paris Paramount. It is scheduled to premiere in December 2027, making it Nancy Meyers’ first feature film since The Intern, which was released in 2015.

She also explained that the working title came from a quote by Ernst Lubitsch, the filmmaker Meyers called “the creator of the romantic comedy.”
Lubitsch once said, “I've been to Paris, France and I've been to Paris, Paramount,” adding, “Frankly, I prefer Paris, Paramount.”
Whether the finished movie spends meaningful time in Paris, France, or mostly in the dream version of the film business remains to be seen. Either way, Meyers appears to be returning to familiar territory: people trying to make art, manage relationships and keep their emotions neatly arranged, with varying success.

The movie role is part of a broader year of firsts for Martin. Earlier this year, she made her television debut on an episode of Rooster, the HBO comedy starring Steve Carell. She has also just completed college, graduating from Vanderbilt University earlier this month.
