Nicole Scherzinger’s boiling water burn happened just an hour before she was due on stage in Düsseldorf, leaving her leg with painful-looking burns and blisters. A perfectly reasonable excuse to cancel a performance, one might think. Scherzinger chose the less restful option.
The 48-year-old singer shared a photograph of the injury on Instagram Stories and wrote: “Nothing like boiling water falling on your leg an hour before your set.”
She followed that with a brisk declaration: “The show must go on.”
After performing, Scherzinger thanked the German crowd for helping her through the concert and confirmed that she expected to be back for the Pussycat Dolls’ next stop. “Thanks Düsseldorf for keeping me going. See you soon Amsterdam,” she wrote.
How did Nicole Scherzinger perform after the accident?
Despite the injury, Scherzinger completed the show alongside Pussycat Dolls members Ashley Roberts, 45, and Kimberly Wyatt, 44. Clips reposted to her Instagram Stories showed her dancing at full speed in the group’s usual glittering stagewear and leotards.
There was little visible sign of a reduced performance. The choreography remained energetic, which is not generally the medical recommendation after pouring boiling water over your leg, but the audience received the full production.
The trio are currently touring Europe as part of the PCD Forever Tour, following their reunion earlier in 2026. They have already performed in Denmark, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, France and Germany.
Their set includes major Pussycat Dolls singles such as When I Grow Up, Jai Ho!, Stickwitu and Don’t Cha. Each performer also gets an individual segment. Roberts has a dance number, Wyatt performs a DJ set, and Scherzinger sings solo releases including Poison and Right There.
Why was the North American tour cut back?
The tour began at the WeHo Pride Festival in California on June 6. That appearance followed the group’s March comeback and the release of Club Song, their first single in six years.
The original schedule included 33 North American dates, but reports said venues remained about 80% empty with only weeks to go before opening night. Ticket sales were described as “alarmingly low”, raising the possibility that concerts would move to smaller venues or disappear from the calendar entirely.
On May 4, the Pussycat Dolls announced that every North American date except their West Hollywood Pride headline show had been cancelled. The change reduced the overall tour to 22 concerts.
“When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world,” the group said. “After taking an honest look at the North American run, we’ve made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates.”
They said the United Kingdom and European concerts would continue as planned, pointing to stronger demand and several sold-out shows. The trio promised a production celebrating both the group’s music and the fans who had supported them since the beginning.
Which Pussycat Dolls are missing from the reunion?
The current lineup does not include original members Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta or Melody Thornton. Their absence was expected to make the arena tour harder to sell, particularly in North America.
Bachar, 52, and Sutta, 44, have both said they were blindsided by the reunion announcement. Sutta claimed she tried to contact the other members privately for several months after rumours began circulating, but did not receive a response until the night before the news became public.
She said health problems and a family bereavement prevented her from returning under the proposed circumstances, but added: “I simply would have appreciated a heads-up earlier so I could process everything privately and handle the situation with a bit more grace and dignity.”
Sutta later called the reunion a “cash grab” during an appearance on The Maverick Approach podcast. She also claimed she had been viewed as a “liability” because of her Republican politics.
Bachar similarly expressed disappointment over the lack of direct communication. She said she had instead focused on personal growth, new music and protecting her peace.
Asked whether her former bandmates had contacted her, Bachar replied: “I’ll always honour what we built together. What happened after speaks for itself.”
Where does the PCD Forever Tour go next?
Following the European dates, the Pussycat Dolls are scheduled to begin the United Kingdom leg in Birmingham. Further concerts are planned through October in cities including Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and London.
The tour is then due to conclude in Brazil on October 30. Scherzinger’s message from Düsseldorf indicated that the Amsterdam show would proceed as planned, despite the backstage accident.
For now, the reunion continues with three members, a reduced schedule and one lead singer nursing a freshly burned leg. The production has encountered several complications, but a shortage of determination does not appear to be among them.
