Millie Bobby Brown welcomes a baby boy with husband Jake Bongiovi, announcing the arrival of their second child in a family photo shared on Instagram on Sept. 17. The couple kept the image characteristically discreet, showing themselves and their daughter holding hands with the newest member of the family.
Brown placed her hand over Bongiovi’s palm while both children held his fingers. The Stranger Things actor wore a short red manicure and a gold ring spelling out “mom” in jewels. She captioned the post simply: “Hi little guy!”
No name or further details about the baby were disclosed. The photo showed only the children’s hands, which is entirely consistent with the couple’s approach to family announcements: enough to share the news, not enough to turn infancy into public property.
How Brown and Bongiovi have protected their children’s privacy
Brown, 22, and Bongiovi, 24, married in 2024. In August 2025, they announced that they had adopted their first child, a baby girl, earlier that summer.
“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,” they wrote on Instagram. “We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.”
They have followed through on the privacy part. The couple has not publicly revealed their daughter’s name or posted photographs showing her face. Brown explained the decision in an interview with British Vogue in November.
“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she said. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”
Brown added that she and Bongiovi would support their daughter if she eventually chose to share her personality publicly, as Brown did while growing up. For now, she said, their responsibility as parents is to shield her from attention she cannot consent to.
Adoption had long been part of Brown’s plans
Brown has previously described adoption as a childhood dream rather than a sudden decision. During a June appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, she said it had always featured in her plans for a family.
“Adoption was always a part of my future,” Brown said. “Adoption is love. Adoption is forever.”
She also discussed studying adoption during social work courses and learning more about the experiences of birth mothers. Brown said she and Bongiovi spent significant time considering the different people and personal histories involved before beginning the process.
“The aspect of adoption in my social work courses was everything and so, so meaningful and important,” she said. “I also learned [by] speaking to and reading a lot about being a birth mother and what that journey is.”
Bongiovi is the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi. He and Brown have shared selected parts of their relationship and marriage publicly, but their children remain largely outside that spotlight. The new announcement suggests that policy is not changing simply because the family now has another very small hand available for Instagram.
